International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner announces the appointment of partner Damian Bloom as the firm’s practice group leader for private client. Mr Bloom replaces Jonathan Kropman who after 13 years in the role will remain a key member of BLP’s private client team and continue to focus on client work

A trained accountant, who fraudulently claimed more than £82,000 VAT refunds to fuel his gambling and drug addiction, is jailed.
