Neuberger Berman hires European portfolio manager
11/08/2014 , News Team

Employee-controlled investment manager Neuberger Berman has appointed Gillian Tiltman as a portfolio manager for Europe within its global real estate securities group.

Her appointment is part of the firm’s development of its global REIT capabilities. Ms Tiltman will be based in London and will report to Steve Shigekawa, senior portfolio manager, and head of the Neuberger Berman global real estate securities group.

Formed in 2002, the Neuberger Berman global real estate securities group has approximately $2.3 billion in assets under management (AUM) and invests primarily in real estate investment trusts, seeking stable income and long-term capital growth by investing in a diversified portfolio of real estate securities.

Ms Tiltman will be responsible for constructing and managing assets invested in Europe within the global real estate strategy. Her hire marks the further expansion of the firm’s global real estate securities efforts and follows the recent appointment of Anton Kwang as a portfolio manager for the Asia Pacific region based in Hong Kong.

Mr Shigekawa said: “Gillian’s appointment displays our commitment to building a truly global team able to offer comprehensive coverage of the real estate securities markets. We believe our Global REIT team can address investor’s needs for portfolio diversification and stable income with total return potential.”

Ms Tiltman was most recently at M&G Investments in London where for the past four years she served as a portfolio manager for a global real estate securities fund with responsibility for asset allocation and stock picking decisions.
